I wish I had read this in high school.

20 Things I wish I’d known [the undergrad edition]

1.  Buying books on Amazon can save you tons of money.

2.  Sometimes buying books on Amazon costs the same.

3.  Explore the local places to eat and pick your favorite.

4.  Alcohol WILL make you gain weight.  Your mother was not lying to you.

5.  You cannot learn a semester of history in one week.  Try studying all semester.

6.  It is okay to wear jeans more than once.  Laundry gets expensive.

7.  The Target/Wal-mart/grocery store brands are just as good and WAY cheaper

8.  The only person who will judge you by brand name things is you.

9.  Brainpower alone cannot outdo hard-work and determination

10. It is okay to fail a class and it does not mean you are stupid.

11.  It is okay to change your major – and your life plan – more than once.

12.  Talk to people who have different beliefs than you, don’t just tolerate them.

13.  It is okay to not like everybody, but be civil.

14.  Your roommate can be your best friend or your worst enemy and you will probably have both.

15.  Be honest – with yourself, and with others.  It will save you untold trouble.

16.  If he doesn’t respect you, he doesn’t love you.

17.  Go to a football game at least once.  It really isn’t the same on tv.

18.  Take a LOT of pictures, of everything.

19.  Talk to your professors.  They’re teachers for a reason.

20.  Above all else: have fun, take chances, and go outside your comfort zone.
